Using it
A quick tour of the controls you'll reach for once Sidecar is set up. For what each feature does in depth, see Features.
Open the panel on any ordinary web page and just ask — “summarize this”, “what does this mean?”, “find the part about pricing”. Press Enter to send, ⇧Enter for a new line. It works on normal pages, not on chrome:// pages.
The bubble-with-clock button opens a searchable list of every saved conversation — split into "About this page" and "All conversations". Click one to pick it back up on the current tab.
The + button starts fresh. Changed your mind before sending? A banner offers to jump back to the conversation you left.
The cog opens Settings — the backend picker, the highlight button, read-aloud voices, starter prompts, and what's saved all live here.
Press ↑ / ↓ in the message box to bring back something you asked before — to send again or edit first.
While an answer is being written, the send button becomes Stop — click it to cut a long reply short.
A new chat shows a few one-tap starter questions, chosen on your own computer for the page you're on. Switch them off in Settings if you'd rather not see them.
The speaker button on any answer reads it with a voice on your Mac. Prefer a warmer one? Download a natural offline voice in Settings.
Every feature, in depth — and exactly what stays on your Mac.
